Box wrappers are machines designed to wrap individual packages and boxes using stretch film. They operate on the same principle as pallet wrappers, but unlike them, they are designed to handle smaller and lighter loads, where stability during wrapping becomes even more important.

Semi-automatic machines

Unlike pallet wrappers, these models are semi-automatic machines: the rotating platform turns automatically, allowing the package to be wrapped, but the operator manually controls the lifting and lowering of the film carriage, which moves along the column. This allows the wrapping to be easily and quickly adapted to the height of the box.

The role of the top press or pallet hold-down

All box wrappers are equipped with a top press or a hold-down on the platform.

• The top press is a system that applies light pressure from above on the package, keeping it steady and stable during wrapping.
• Alternatively, some models have a hold-down at the base of the platform, which locks the package in place to prevent movement during the operation.

These features are essential because when working with light or irregular packages, there is a risk they may shift during platform rotation.

Manual film pre-stretch

In box wrappers, the film pre-stretch is manual. This means that the film tension is adjusted by the operator, still ensuring uniform and secure wrapping. This simple solution reduces stretch film waste, lowering costs, and makes the machine easier to use, even for untrained personnel.
