Customer requirement
A manufacturer of abrasive discs needed to package its products in a safe and durable way, with the aim of protecting them and keeping them organized and compact.
The main requirements were:
- long-term protection of the abrasive discs
- stable and professional packaging
- selection of the most suitable material for storage and aesthetic quality
Proposed solution and tested machines
To meet the customer’s requirements, tests were carried out with two semi-automatic chamber packaging machines:

The tests were carried out to compare:
- machine performance
- packaging quality
- materials used
Difference between the two solutions and materials used
During the test, two types of film were evaluated:
🔹 RP Series + polyolefin film
The RP Series, a more powerful and professional machine, was used with polyolefin film.
🔹 FP 5540 Series + PVC film
The FP 5540 Series was tested with PVC film, a more rigid and “dry” material.
Test results
The tests carried out showed that:
- both solutions guarantee good packaging results
- the RP Series with polyolefin film offers superior performance
- better aesthetic quality and longer-lasting results are achieved with polyolefin film
- PVC is a valid solution but less suitable for long-term storage
