Customer Requirement

A customer needed to join multiple pieces of a very thick material strip, approximately 1.5 mm thick, ensuring a strong and continuous bond.

After evaluating several solutions, including welding pliers, a more effective alternative was identified for this specific application.

Proposed Solution

The test was carried out using a hot air blower equipped with a specific nozzle designed to concentrate the heat in a precise area, followed by a pressure roller to compact the material during the melting phase.

The localized heat allowed the controlled melting of the surfaces, while the pressure applied by the roller ensured the correct bonding of the materials, eliminating any discontinuities.

Results and Conclusions

The result achieved was excellent: the welding process created a single, continuous, and strong strip, with a level of strength almost comparable to a single piece of material.
